In Rotaton: Gabriela Gomez-Misserian

We are thrilled to welcome our next In Rotation artist, Gabriela Gomez-Misserian! Gabriela is near and dear to our hearts and no stranger to the studio — this is her third year taking classes with Michelle, and she has even done a custom piece for us of the old studio that you can see hanging in our studio bathroom.

Gabriela Gomez-Misserian is a visual artist based in Charleston, South Carolina. Her studio work imbues slow living with whimsy, familiarity, and warmth. She embraces imperfection in her practice: Expressive and wonky lines vibrate with movement and character, and paintings and drawings reinterpret personal memories of strolling through verdant Southern gardens, native coastal ecosystems, farmers’ markets, historic Charleston neighborhoods, and cozy interiors.
